Amichai Shikli Says War Could Have Been Better If Military Heeded Political Leadership

Amichai Shikli, Israel's Minister of Diaspora Affairs, stated at the Tekuma Right-Wing Conference in Tel Aviv Expo that the recent war could have been conducted more effectively. He attributed this to the military leadership not listening to the political echelon on key issues such as humanitarian aid and the isolation of northern Gaza. Shikli emphasized that the challenges were not only on the battlefield but also in the relationship between the political and military leadership. Despite these difficulties, he acknowledged the significant achievement of weakening Hamas, which he described as no longer an effective military force in the Gaza Strip.
