White House Spokeswoman Acknowledges Israeli Efforts to Influence U.S. Public Opinion
White House spokeswoman Caroline Lewitt stated on Thursday that she believes President Donald Trump would agree with U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance's claim that certain individuals in Israel are attempting to influence American public opinion. Vance made these remarks during an interview on Joe Rogan's podcast, alleging that some people who received payments from a former Trump campaign official, who himself was funded by elements within the Israeli government, are involved in this influence effort.
Lewitt confirmed that foreign countries do try to sway U.S. public opinion, calling it an undeniable fact. Vance's comments followed a recent report by Time magazine revealing that Israel hired Brad Parscale's digital firm, at a monthly contract of $1.5 million, to run an influence campaign aimed at bolstering support for Israel among Trump's conservative base. The investigation suggested that after the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Iran, the campaign helped spread critical messages against the agreement on social media.
Parscale, who previously managed Trump's presidential campaign, denied any involvement in efforts to undermine Trump or sabotage the Iran deal. The revelations have raised suspicions within the U.S. administration about foreign interference in domestic political discourse. The situation highlights ongoing concerns about external influence operations targeting American voters, especially in the context of sensitive international agreements.
