Smotrich Warns Gadi Eizenkot Government Will Establish Palestinian Terror State Within Israel

Religious Zionism leader and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich strongly opposed the potential formation of a government led by Gadi Eizenkot, warning on Thursday that such a government would create a Palestinian terror state in the heart of Israel. Smotrich accused international and Israeli left-wing forces of attempting to reverse key moves made in Judea and Samaria, aiming to return to the dangerous Oslo framework. He cautioned right-wing voters against being deceived by Eizenkot's statesmanlike image, claiming it conceals a dangerous left-wing government intent on harming Israeli interests.

Smotrich further asserted that this government would dismantle Jewish settlements in Judea and Samaria, evict Jews from their homes, and remove Israel's security buffer zones. He warned that such actions would increase the risk of terrorist attacks reaching central Israeli cities like Ra'anana, Kfar Saba, and Modiin. He also criticized Eizenkot's potential political partners, naming Mansour Abbas and Yair Golan, the latter of whom he quoted as preferring the United Arab List (Ra'am) over Religious Zionism and favoring the Muslim Brotherhood over Jewish allies.

In closing, Smotrich addressed religious politicians joining satellite parties to avoid being labeled sectarian, accusing them of abandoning their identity. His remarks reflect deep divisions within the right-wing camp ahead of upcoming elections and highlight the contentious debate over Israel's policy in the West Bank and the future of the settlements.
