Israeli Supreme Court Dismisses Petition to Halt Tax Benefits for Yeshivas with Draft-Dodgers
The Israeli Supreme Court has dismissed a petition demanding the cessation of tax benefits granted to yeshivas attended by draft-dodgers who have not regularized their status. The petitioners argued against the tax advantages given to these institutions. However, the court noted that the state had largely accepted the petitioners' position. The government has decided to stop granting or renewing Section 46 approvals to such institutions and to revoke existing approvals. Furthermore, the state announced it would begin implementing this policy immediately.
