Ultra-Orthodox Man Severely Attacked in Ramat Gan Amid Rising Hate Speech
In Ramat Gan, an ultra-Orthodox man from Bnei Brak was violently assaulted by a young attacker who shouted death threats at him due to his religious appearance. The victim, Rabbi David, recounted to Kol Barama radio how the assailant jumped off a bicycle and struck him with a glass beer bottle, attempting to break it to stab him. The attacker yelled, "Haredim, go to Bnei Brak, don’t step here. In five minutes I’m coming back to kill you." Despite the incident occurring near a crowded bus stop with many witnesses, no one intervened or called the police. Rabbi David expressed concern that Jews now fear walking in Ramat Gan while dressed in traditional ultra-Orthodox clothing. Although the police were notified, the suspect remains at large. This attack highlights the dangerous climate fueled by severe incitement against Torah scholars in the media.
