A fire erupted at Roger Federer's traditional and prestigious Wimbledon party held at his large estate immediately after the conclusion of the famous grass-court tournament. The incident occurred when two female guests threw their cigarette butts onto decorative wood chips in the yard, causing a rapid blaze. An attendee described loud gasps from the crowd as the fire quickly spread.

Security personnel responded calmly and swiftly, using hoses and buckets of water to contain the flames within about 20 minutes. They continued to extinguish embers for another hour to prevent re-ignition. Approximately 400 guests were safely evacuated to a distant area, and no injuries were reported.
