Spain National Team Agrees on World Cup 2026 Prize Money Distribution with Football Federation

Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Spanish national football team has finalized a financial agreement with the Spanish Football Federation regarding prize money distribution based on their tournament performance. The deal, reached in March with federation president Rafael Luisán, outlines bonuses for players if Spain finishes in the top three.

FIFA will award $50 million to the tournament winner, an increase of $8 million from the previous World Cup in Qatar. Spain has agreed that 45% of this amount will be distributed among the players, resulting in approximately 865,000 euros gross per player if they win the title. For a second-place finish, FIFA's prize is $33 million, with 40% allocated to players, equating to about 507,000 euros each. If Spain secures third place, the team will receive $29 million, with 35% shared among players, giving each roughly 390,000 euros.

This agreement clarifies the financial incentives for the Spanish squad as they prepare for the upcoming tournament, ensuring players are rewarded proportionally to their success on the world stage.
