Shin Bet Extends Ban on Israeli Airlines Landing in Dubai Amid Regional Tensions

The Shin Bet has extended the ban on Israeli airlines landing in Dubai until the end of October, a decision made amid rising security tensions and fears of escalation with Iran. This extension affects three Israeli carriers: El Al, Arkia, and Israir. Previously, the ban was set to expire in early September, but the new directive will lead to the cancellation of tens of thousands of flight tickets, with affected passengers expected to receive notifications starting this morning.

The security restriction applies exclusively to Israeli airlines and does not affect foreign carriers. Flydubai will continue operating its ten daily flights between Tel Aviv and Dubai as usual. Similarly, Etihad Airways will maintain its flights to Abu Dhabi without any changes, as the ban does not apply to it. The move reflects heightened caution in the region and aims to mitigate risks amid the current geopolitical climate.
