Syrian Migrant Art Exhibition in Germany Raises Funds for Women in Syria
A recent art exhibition in Dortmund, Germany, showcased works by Syrian artists living in the country, aiming to support charitable projects in Syria. The event, held over two days, focused on cultural exchange between the Syrian community and German society. Organizer Spaa Al-Sheikh Youssef explained that proceeds from the sale of the artworks would be donated to aid Syrian women, highlighting their creativity and contributions while living abroad.
Although the exhibition received little attention from German media, it garnered significant coverage and enthusiasm in Syrian media. The Syrian news agency SANA praised the event for promoting Syrian culture and emphasizing the diaspora's support for their homeland.
Germany currently hosts approximately one million Syrian refugees who have arrived over the past 11 years. This large population has prompted German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt to consider a plan offering 8,000 euros to Syrian citizens who voluntarily return to Syria from Germany.
