Iranian Military Spokesman Condemns US Threat to Control Strait of Hormuz Following Trump Interview

The spokesman for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya military command responded sharply to US President Donald Trump's recent Fox News interview, in which Trump declared that the United States would take control of the Strait of Hormuz and potentially impose tolls on passage. In an official statement, the Iranian military condemned what it called America's repeated reckless interventions in managing the Strait of Hormuz, regional security, international trade, and the transit of oil tankers and commercial ships. The statement warned that such actions endanger the region and that cooperation by some regional countries with the US has increased the risk of a broader conflict.

The spokesman emphasized that Iran will never permit US interference in the Strait's management and vowed that the Islamic Republic's armed forces will respond forcefully to any disruption or insecurity caused by the "aggressive and predatory" US military outside routes authorized by Iran. Recent strong measures by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Iran's army were cited as evidence of this stance.

The statement also directly addressed neighboring Gulf states hosting US bases or providing logistical support, declaring that any cooperation with the US military would be considered an act of war against Iran's sovereignty and national security. It warned that any escalation of conflict would engulf the entire region in flames.
