Tnuva Dairy Products Face Ongoing Shortages Impacting Israeli Supermarkets

Israeli consumers continue to experience shortages of popular dairy products from Tnuva, one of the country's leading dairy producers. Following recent scarcity of cottage cheese, white cheeses and other dairy items are now also becoming difficult to find on supermarket shelves. The supply disruptions stem from a malfunction at Tnuva's factory in Rehovot, which the company says has been fixed, but normal supply levels have yet to resume.

The shortage is not new and has affected various dairy products over recent months, including milk and cream. Retailers report that the scarcity is now spreading to additional products such as Ashal and Gil brands and other complementary dairy items. This has led some consumers to seek alternative dairy products or attempt homemade cottage cheese preparations.

The reduced availability of Tnuva products has increased demand for competitors like Tera and Strauss. However, these companies typically do not produce at the same scale as Tnuva, which may cause occasional shortages in their products as well. Notably, the shortages primarily impact price-controlled dairy products, while non-controlled items generally remain available, raising industry questions about production and supply chain management.

Despite the partial nature of the shortages, cottage cheese and white cheeses remain the hardest to find, with many consumers still struggling to locate them in stores. The situation highlights ongoing challenges in Israel's dairy supply amid production issues and regulatory price controls.
