Attempted to Flee Police, Arrested in Sacker Park with Drugs

Police forces arrested a suspect in Sacker Park after he tried to flee. During a search, substances suspected to be hashish and marijuana were found in his possession. It later emerged that the suspect had been captured on security cameras as the person who damaged two police motorcycles, including one belonging to the commander of the district’s motorcycle patrol unit.
Police today, Thursday, arrested a 60-year-old suspect, a resident of Mevaseret Zion, in Sacker Park in Jerusalem, on suspicion of possessing drugs and causing damage to police motorcycles. The incident began when officers noticed a man who aroused their suspicion. When they approached to check him, the suspect tried to run away from the scene.
The officers launched a chase and arrested the suspect. In the inspection that was carried out, substances suspected to be hashish and marijuana were found on him. To their surprise, it turned out that the same suspect had been documented by security cameras as the person who caused damage to two police motorcycles, including one belonging to the commander of the district motorcycle patrol unit.
The suspect was transferred for questioning on suspicion of obstructing a police officer in the line of duty, causing damage to property, and possession of a suspected narcotic substance. He was brought before a judge at the Magistrate’s Court, and his remand was extended until the beginning of next week, according to the Israel Police Spokesperson.
