Haifa Closes Five Beaches Due to Water Quality Concerns

The Haifa Municipality announced the closure of five beaches for swimming following irregularities detected in sea water quality tests. The affected beaches include Student Beach, Dado Beach (Station 6), Central Dado Beach (Station 5), Zamir Beach (Station 2) including the toddlers' pool, and Bat Galim Beach (both south and north sections). The closures are effective immediately and will remain until further notice.

The municipality stated that additional water sampling will be conducted during the day, and future actions will be determined based on the new results. The public has been urged to comply with the closure and avoid swimming at the specified beaches until the situation is resolved.

This announcement comes shortly after the Ministry of Health lifted a swimming warning at Bat Yam's Duyama and Riviera beaches, which had been issued due to sewage leakage from a municipal pumping station. The Ministry confirmed that water quality there has returned to safe levels.
