The issue arose during maintenance and infrastructure upgrades carried out by one of the cellular providers, which inadvertently released several old messages that had been stuck in the system. As a result, a pre-alert notification was broadcast to mobile phones in the area. The IDF emphasized that the alert was not related to any security incident but was purely a technical error linked to the cellular network provider's operations.
