Former Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef Says Netanyahu Has No Chance to Repent
Former Chief Rabbi of Israel and current Rishon LeZion, Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, made a rare public statement expressing doubt about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's potential to repent. During his weekly lesson, Rabbi Yosef acknowledged that while some people might still return to a religious path, he does not believe Netanyahu will do so. "We are living in a secular state with many public sins, and we pray that everyone will repent," he said. However, he differentiated between those he thinks can change and those who cannot, explicitly stating, "What, Bibi Netanyahu will repent? There is no chance he will repent." Rabbi Yosef also mentioned former IDF Chief of Staff and current Knesset member Gadi Eizenkot, suggesting that Eizenkot might still repent.
