Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu Highlights Spiritual Strength in Educators at Program Launch

At an event held at the late Rabbi Haim Druckman's home in the Shapira Center, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, Chief Rabbi of Safed and member of the Chief Rabbinate Council, emphasized the enduring educational legacy of Rabbi Druckman. The gathering marked the unveiling of a new initiative by the organization "Educators for Life - Israel's Educational Leaders," under the "Henenu" association, aimed at encouraging and empowering teachers from the Religious Zionist community amid a severe shortage of educators and yeshiva teachers.

Rabbi Eliyahu recalled the close relationship between his father and Rabbi Druckman, noting that his family grew up inspired by Druckman's dedication to building future generations through Torah, education, settlement, military service, and conversion. Reflecting on Rabbi Druckman's passing, Eliyahu described the atmosphere as more of a celebration than a funeral, highlighting the widespread impact of Druckman's educational work.

He stressed that the strength of the Jewish people primarily rests on spiritual resilience, stating, "In the end, we know there is nothing more victorious than spirit." He underscored the vital role of educators, yeshiva heads, school principals, and preparatory institutions in leading the nation forward. While acknowledging the need for military readiness, he affirmed that ultimate salvation comes from spiritual strength. Rabbi Eliyahu called for continuing Rabbi Druckman's path in education to meet future challenges, expressing confidence in success with divine help.
