National Security Minister Approves Hadera for Personal Gun License Eligibility
National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir has approved the inclusion of the city of Hadera in the list of municipalities eligible for personal firearm licenses. This decision follows a request from Hadera's Mayor Nir Ben Haim and a professional review conducted by the Israel Police and the Firearms Licensing and Supervision Department. As a result, residents of Hadera who meet the legal criteria can now apply for personal gun licenses.
Hadera joins dozens of other localities across Israel already recognized under the expanded firearms reform. Since the reform's expansion, over 280,000 personal gun licenses have been issued, a record number according to the Ministry of National Security. Ben Gvir stated, "I am proud to continue the revolution by adding more cities, towns, and councils to the list of eligible areas. Residents have a basic right to protect themselves and their families. My policy is clear: guns in the right hands save lives."
Mayor Nir Ben Haim welcomed the decision, calling it a significant development for Hadera residents and an important step in strengthening personal security. He expressed gratitude to Minister Ben Gvir for responding to his request and emphasized ongoing efforts to enhance the city's safety and residents' sense of security.
