Hanamal Dorfman to Run for Knesset with Otzma Yehudit Party

Hanamal Dorfman, chief of staff to National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, announced on September 28, 2025, that he will run for the Knesset representing the Otzma Yehudit party. Dorfman, previously active in the "Hilltop Youth" and a target of the Shin Bet's Jewish Department, has become a close confidant of Ben-Gvir, managing his office and police relations. He was investigated by the Police Investigations Department on suspicion of attempting to interfere with nationalist crime investigations and instructing police not to confiscate weapons from settlers in certain cases.

Over a decade ago, Dorfman appeared on Walla studios to discuss the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin, calling the event "overblown" and criticizing the sanctification of Rabin. He described Rabin as a "traitor" who harmed Israel by enabling violence through the Oslo Accords and claimed that many Israelis share his view. Dorfman stated that Rabin's actions were mostly wrong and that although he does not justify the assassination, he questions Rabin's loyalty for arming militants.

Regarding peace talks with Jordan, Dorfman questioned the use of the term "peace" and expressed his belief that Israel should conquer Jordan as part of a "Greater Israel." His statements reflect a hardline nationalist stance aligned with Otzma Yehudit's ideology.
