Galilee Guesthouses Receive Emergency Upgrades Ahead of Tourist Return

After months of quiet, cancellations, and security uncertainty, guesthouse owners in the Galilee region are preparing for the return of tourists. An emergency program has been launched to upgrade dozens of accommodation sites in border communities, starting with a pilot in the Ma'ale Yosef Regional Council. The initiative covers businesses in villages such as Abirim, Matat, Peki'in, Manot, Ya'ara, Shtula, Even Menachem, Zra'im, Abdon, Goren, Neve Ziv, and others.

The project is supported by private sector partners who have donated equipment and resources. Beyond physical upgrades, guesthouse owners will receive assistance in marketing strategy development, connections to business mentors through the Western Galilee Business Hub, and ongoing support after the project's completion.

Despite the renovations and investments, owners acknowledge the main challenge remains: the timing of tourists feeling safe enough to return to border communities and revive the Galilee tourism industry. The program aims to prepare the sector for this eventual return and restore hope for economic recovery in the region.
