Zlatko Dalić Resigns as Croatia National Football Team Coach After Nine Years

Zlatko Dalić has stepped down as head coach of the Croatian national football team after nearly nine years in charge, the Croatian Football Federation announced on Wednesday. His resignation comes less than a week after Croatia was eliminated from the 2026 World Cup following a 2-1 loss to Portugal in the round of 32.

During Dalić's tenure, Croatia achieved significant success, finishing as runners-up in the 2018 World Cup and securing third place in the 2022 tournament held in Qatar. However, the early exit in the latest World Cup marked a disappointing end to his era. The federation expressed gratitude for Dalić's "unforgettable journey" and praised his dedication, leadership, and the unity he fostered within the team both on and off the pitch.
