In June 2026, Israel's government budget deficit narrowed significantly to approximately 8.6 billion shekels, compared to a deficit of about 16.8 billion shekels in June 2025, according to data released by the Ministry of Finance. The cumulative deficit over the past 12 months stood at around 3.3% of GDP, marking a 0.4 percentage point improvement from the previous figure.
State revenues for June totaled roughly 45.7 billion shekels. Since the beginning of the year, revenues have reached approximately 307 billion shekels, an increase of about 11.4% compared to 275.7 billion shekels during the same period last year. Meanwhile, government expenditures in June amounted to about 54.3 billion shekels.
For the first half of 2026, total government spending was approximately 313.8 billion shekels, up 1.9% from 308.1 billion shekels in the first half of 2025.
