Russia Unveils Next-Generation High-Speed Train with Advanced Aerodynamic Design
Russia's national railway company has officially revealed the front design of its new high-speed train currently under development. The train features an elongated aerodynamic shape specifically engineered to significantly reduce air resistance during travel. According to the company's engineers, this design is expected to yield substantial energy savings, lower noise levels, and enable smoother and safer entry into tunnels by preventing the formation of strong pressure waves.
The ambitious project timeline is already taking shape: the first train, consisting of eight carriages, is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. Following this, in 2027, two initial train sets are planned to undergo extensive test runs on the route between Zelenograd and Tver.
