Actor Ofer Hayoun Opens Up About Joys and Challenges of New Fatherhood

About three weeks ago, Israeli actor Ofer Hayoun became a father for the first time with his wife, Omer Kalif. The couple kept Kalif's entire nine-month pregnancy private, sharing the news only with close family and friends. Hayoun and Kalif married about a year and a half ago; it was Hayoun's second marriage and Kalif's first.

At a recent event launching Aminach's bedroom collection, Hayoun spoke candidly about his new role as a father. He described waking up at night to help care for their newborn son, though his wife takes the lead. When asked why they chose to keep the pregnancy under wraps, Hayoun explained that it felt right to protect the experience from public scrutiny and that "there is a blessing in what is hidden from view."

Hayoun also reflected on the personal growth fatherhood has brought him, noting increased patience and adaptability despite sleep deprivation. He expressed enthusiasm about the future, saying he and his wife are open to having a second child soon. "I take it all in stride, it feels completely natural, and I enjoy it," he said. "It's meaningful and fun."
