Hapoel Haifa Signs Young Malian Midfielder Sik Keita for Upcoming Season
Hapoel Haifa has reached an agreement to sign 20-year-old Malian defensive midfielder Sik Omar Keita for the 2026/27 season, with an option for an additional year pending medical clearance. Keita, who recently played in the United Arab Emirates' second division for Hatta Club, impressed the coaching staff during recent training sessions and a friendly match against Maccabi Netanya. He appeared in 16 matches across all competitions last season, totaling 1,011 minutes and providing one assist.
Keita developed in a local youth academy in Mali before moving to Hatta Club in the summer of 2024. Hapoel Haifa is focusing on strengthening its young core this transfer window, having also signed players like Itay Zeparni, Tal Naim, and Sali Fahima. The club is preparing intensively for the upcoming Israeli Premier League season, aiming to improve key positions including defensive midfield.
