Former MK Files Police Complaint Against Minister Silman Over Calls to Arrest Supreme Court Judges

Former Knesset member Yael Cohen Paran filed a police complaint on Tuesday against Environmental Protection Minister Idit Silman at the Hadera police station. The complaint follows Silman's remarks the previous day accusing Supreme Court judges of breaking the law and stating they should be arrested if they do not comply with authority and the law. Cohen Paran accused Silman of explicitly inciting an agitated public to arrest the judges and warned of a brewing constitutional crisis that could lead to bloodshed. She urged law enforcement to act to prevent the next political assassination.

Silman's comments were made during a radio interview on Galei Yisrael, where she intensified her criticism of the judiciary. She blamed the Supreme Court for dragging the country into a constitutional crisis and claimed the judges are destroying democracy. Silman called on the judges to obey the law and warned that all legal and democratic tools would be used against them if they fail to comply. She added that if no such tools exist, "they must be arrested. Period."
