Mike Nori, less than two weeks into his tenure as head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers, is already shaping his vision for the team's offense next season. According to Oregon Live, Nori, who spent 17 years as an NBA assistant coach, has met with players and staff, immediately requesting contact information for every player on the roster. His longest meeting was with star guard Ja Morant, where Nori encouraged him to bring his best game. "The message I gave him was the same as to every player: give me your best version," Nori said. He described Morant as a wonderful person, excited to compete and play meaningful basketball, already eager to join Portland.

Nori also met with guard Jrue Holiday in Los Angeles, who expressed full support for Nori's decisions and a willingness to play any role, emphasizing ball security. Nori envisions a fast-paced style with constant movement, smart players, and strong leadership. He believes Damian Lillard's presence will create space for Danny Avdija and Morant, while Holiday's versatility will allow for smaller lineups.
