US Legal Group Demands Federal Investigation and Sanctions Against Hind A. Rajab Foundation Targeting IDF Soldiers
The Israeli legal organization Shurat HaDin filed an official complaint on Tuesday with the US Department of Justice, urging a federal national security investigation into the Hind A. Rajab Foundation (HRF). The group also called for sanctions against the foundation and its leaders, citing their campaign against Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers. Shurat HaDin warned that the foundation's legal actions, which include filing complaints against IDF combat engineers and other soldiers, are expanding to target Israeli-American civilians and could eventually threaten American military personnel.
Shurat HaDin, which represents terror victims and persecuted IDF soldiers worldwide, requested that the investigation involve the FBI, the State Department, and the US Treasury. They seek to uncover who funds and directs HRF’s activities and whether the foundation has ties to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, terrorist organizations, or other sanctioned entities. The complaint highlights HRF’s international campaign to identify, gather information on, publicly expose, and initiate criminal and legal proceedings against IDF soldiers, reservists, and former officers.
Attorney Nitzana Darshan-Leitner, president of Shurat HaDin, stated that HRF operates under the guise of human rights but weaponizes the legal system against IDF soldiers. She emphasized the risk that while the current targets are Israeli soldiers, American troops fighting terrorism in the Middle East could be next. Darshan-Leitner called on the US to thoroughly investigate and halt HRF’s activities, describing it as a top American interest.
