British Singer Lauren Bennett, Known for 'Party Rock Anthem,' Dies at 37

Lauren Bennett, the British singer who gained fame for her feature on the 2011 electro-pop hit "Party Rock Anthem" by LMFAO, has died at the age of 37. The circumstances surrounding her death have not yet been disclosed. Bennett was also a member of the girl groups Paradiso Girls and G.R.L. Her bandmates in G.R.L. announced her passing on Instagram, expressing heartbreak and emphasizing her importance to them, saying, "Her beautiful soul touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved."

Bennett began her music career with Paradiso Girls, a group formed by Robin Antin, founder of the Pussycat Dolls. The group gained attention in 2009 with their debut single "Patron Tequila" featuring Eve and Lil Jon, but disbanded in 2010 after Interscope Records ended their contract. Bennett later joined G.R.L., which featured on Pitbull's 2014 hit "Wild Wild Love" and released their debut EP and popular single "Ugly Heart" that same year.

Born in Kent, England, Bennett participated in local talent competitions as a child and formed a duo at age 14, performing in pubs and bars. She competed in the reality show "The X Factor," reaching the final 12 before elimination. This exposure led to an audition for Paradiso Girls in Los Angeles, where she moved at 17. G.R.L. initially disbanded in 2014 following the death of member Simone Battle but reformed in 2016 with Bennett as part of the trio. The group continued performing and announced plans for new music in 2021.
