Israel Veterans Soccer Team Suffers 3-0 Defeat to USA at Maccabiah Games

The Israeli veterans soccer team, composed of players over 35, was decisively defeated 3-0 by the United States on July 6 during the Maccabiah Games tournament. This loss eliminated Israel's chances of advancing to the final match. The scoring began in the 20th minute when Alex Razimo received a cross from Roy Ben Haim and volleyed the ball into the net, putting the Americans ahead 1-0. Just four minutes later, Idan Vidoser scored again, placing the ball in the same corner past Israeli goalkeeper Liran Strauber to extend the lead to 2-0. The third goal came from Shay Sharabi, who struck a powerful shot to seal the victory for the U.S. team.

In the 54th minute, a controversial incident occurred when Israeli player Ravid Gazal clashed with Vidoser after Gazal made contact with the assistant referee. The confrontation escalated into a scuffle, resulting in Gazal's red card and ejection from the game. This defeat marked the veterans team's effective exit from the Maccabiah Games after only two matches played. The Israeli team now faces an early elimination from the tournament.
