Silman's Husband Pressures Netanyahu's Circle to Support Her Likud Primary Bid
Shmulik Silman, husband of Environment Minister Idit Silman, has recently reached out to associates in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office to urge them to assist his wife in the upcoming Likud party primaries ahead of the Knesset elections. In conversations with Netanyahu's staff, Silman reminded them of the significant role Minister Silman played in toppling the Bennett-Lapid government by serving as coalition chairwoman, implying they should support her candidacy in return. This pressure comes amid Minister Silman's difficult position in the primary race. Prior to the current Knesset elections, Netanyahu had secured her a reserved spot at number 16 on the Likud list, a decision made in recognition of her contribution to ending the previous government.
