Netanyahu Meets Likud Chairman Haim Katz Amid Primary Election Tensions

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met on Monday with Haim Katz, chairman of the Likud Central Committee, to discuss and resolve ongoing tensions surrounding the Likud primary elections. According to political correspondent Michael Shemesh, Netanyahu visited Katz's home in an effort to persuade him, with reports indicating that the two are close to reaching an agreement on reserved spots within the party list.

This meeting was not their first recent discussion on the matter; about a week earlier, Netanyahu and Katz held a focused meeting addressing the reserved slots for the Likud list formation. During these talks, proposals were raised to merge the Dan and Tel Aviv districts, as well as to combine the Jerusalem district with Judea and Samaria.

In a related comment, Netanyahu also stated that his relationship with former U.S. President Donald Trump remains "perfectly fine." The discussions reflect ongoing efforts within Likud to finalize the party list ahead of upcoming elections and manage internal party dynamics.
