Israeli Actress Einat Holland Suffers Surfing Accident in Sri Lanka, Receives Medical Treatment
Israeli actress Einat Holland, 34, experienced a surfing accident during her vacation in Sri Lanka. After surfing for six consecutive days, she attempted to surf on the seventh day despite feeling fatigued. During a wave, she crashed and was struck in the forehead by the surfboard's fins. Due to adrenaline, she initially did not notice the injury but was alerted by an Israeli bystander who saw blood on her forehead.
Several Israelis helped Holland exit the water and she was taken to receive medical treatment, which included three stitches and antibiotics. Holland described the incident to mako salbs, saying, "I surfed for six days straight, on the seventh day I felt my body was tired but still went out. On the first wave, I crashed and got the fins of the surfboard right on my forehead. Luckily it ended this way. I am on my way back to Israel."
Holland shared photos from her trip on Instagram, including a close-up of her stitched forehead, captioned, "And on this, it is said, the dream broke, my friends." Despite the accident, she expressed hope that the injury would not leave a scar. The vacation, initially a dream getaway, concluded with an unexpected medical emergency.
The incident highlights the risks of surfing even for experienced individuals and the importance of prompt assistance, especially when abroad. Holland’s return to Israel is imminent following her treatment in Sri Lanka.
