Eli Yishai Considers Political Comeback Ahead of Upcoming Elections
In recent days, discussions have taken place with former Shas chairman Eli Yishai regarding a potential return to politics in the upcoming elections. According to a report by Israel Hayom, Yishai has not yet seriously considered the offer, but the outreach aims to strengthen the right-wing bloc by reintroducing a well-known figure who could boost its polling numbers. Yishai commands a loyal base of thousands of Likud members, including many followers of the late Rabbi Meir Mazuz from Bnei Brak, with whom he maintained a close relationship until Mazuz's death in 2025. Recently, Yishai has arranged meetings with senior ministers and Knesset members from Likud. On the topic of his political standing, Yishai commented that being offered ninth place on a list is an insult and indicated he lacks sufficient support for such a position.
