Skolye Hasidim in Lakewood Hold Intense Torah Study During 17th of Tammuz Fast
On the fast day of the 17th of Tammuz, Skolye Hasidim gathered in Lakewood for a special continuous Torah study session called 'Agra D'Taanita.' Despite the long fasting hours, the community engaged in extended learning with great dedication. After the fast concluded and the evening prayer was recited, the Skolye Rebbe hosted a celebratory 'tish' where he delivered words of encouragement and personally distributed valuable gifts to all participants.
In other Hasidic news, thousands of Vizhnitz Hasidim were called to assemble at the Western Wall for a large prayer gathering seeking the full recovery of their Rebbe ahead of the High Holy Days. The Rebbe’s sons issued an emotional call to their followers, and members of the 'Baal Habatim' kollels joined the event during a strengthening tour in Jerusalem.
Additionally, the Rebbe of Toldot Avraham Yitzchak visited his followers in Har Yona after nearly a year due to health issues. Hundreds of children welcomed him with song, and he toured new community projects and visited close associates. Meanwhile, the Bobov 45 Rebbe gave a farewell Torah talk to yeshiva students before their summer camps, rewarding outstanding students with valuable prizes.
Several joyous celebrations were also documented, including a grand wedding for the granddaughter of the Mishkoltz Rebbe, attended by prominent rabbis and community leaders. The Satmar community held a gratitude event for emissaries who raised millions for institutions in Israel and inaugurated two new affordable wedding halls in Kiryas Joel. Other events included a memorial for the late Kretshnif Rebbe and a vacation retreat for the Pittsburg and Spinka Rebbes in Austria.
These events reflect the vibrant spiritual life and communal solidarity among various Hasidic groups during this period of fasting, prayer, and celebration.
