China to Open World's First Fully Robot-Operated Hotel in 2027
China plans to launch the world's first hotel almost entirely operated by robots in 2027, developed by Pudu Robotics in Shenzhen. The hotel will be located on the artificial West Artificial Island and feature 44 guest rooms, a restaurant, gym, and other facilities. Robots will manage the entire guest experience, including check-in, luggage transport, room service, food preparation, cleaning, and guest assistance.
Pudu Robotics announced that trial rooms will open by the end of 2026, allowing guests to experience robotic check-in and autonomous delivery services ahead of the full hotel opening. The project aims to explore how artificial intelligence and robotics can fully manage hospitality services, supporting Shenzhen’s goal to become a global hub for robotics technology and smart tourism.
