Belz Rebbe Adds Missing Verse with Pen During 17th of Tammuz Gathering
During a traditional Hasidic gathering (tish) on the evening of the 17th of Tammuz, the Belz Rebbe unexpectedly took out a pen and added a missing verse to the song booklet "Vesham Nashir," which features melodies of exile sung during the period of Bein Hametzarim (the Three Weeks of mourning). This moment occurred in the middle of the "Lechaim" ceremony, a celebratory toast held at the event. The addition was captured on video and shared by Anashil Beck and A.M.S. The event took place on July 4, 2026, corresponding to the 19th of Tammuz, 5786 in the Hebrew calendar. The Rebbe's action was noted as a significant and meaningful correction to the traditional song text, emphasizing the importance of preserving the full liturgical content during this solemn time.
