US-Iran Nuclear Talks Set for July 11 in Islamabad Amid Trump’s New Conditions

A new round of negotiations between the United States and Iran is scheduled for July 11 in Islamabad, Pakistan, focusing on Iran’s nuclear program, frozen Iranian funds, and US sanctions, according to a report by the Arab television network Al Arabiya. The talks come amid heightened tensions following Iran’s refusal to allow the International Atomic Energy Agency access to its nuclear sites.

US President Donald Trump, in a CNBC interview, outlined conditions for releasing approximately $100 billion in Iranian assets frozen abroad. He insisted that any thawing of funds must be tied to Iran purchasing American agricultural products such as corn, wheat, and soybeans, emphasizing that only US farmers should supply these goods. Trump also highlighted the severe economic and military pressure on Iran, noting inflation has surged to 300 percent due to a naval blockade restricting trade ships.

Trump dismissed reports suggesting Iran’s situation had improved, claiming the Iranian military was devastated and much of its leadership eliminated during recent conflicts. He further expressed confusion over American Jewish support for the Democratic Party, asserting he was the best US president for Israel and claiming he would win about 99 percent of the vote if he ran in Israeli elections.

The upcoming talks will address critical issues including the status of Iranian frozen funds, sanctions, and nuclear compliance, reflecting ongoing US efforts to leverage economic pressure while negotiating with Tehran.
