Barzilai is preparing for a high-profile bout against former UFC fighter Lucas Almeida, marking his first fight on Israeli soil. During a recent training session at the Fighting Nerds gym in Brazil, where Barzilai regularly trains, a serious incident occurred. Two individuals entered the gym to watch the training, which is sometimes allowed, but one of them began filming Barzilai without permission. It was later revealed that the person filming was Brazilian MMA fighter Kamel Ottoni, who is closely connected to Barzilai's opponent, Almeida.

The gym staff and fighters reacted strongly to the unauthorized filming, leading to a chaotic confrontation. The situation only calmed down after Barzilai intervened and asked the two visitors to leave. Barzilai's camp stated that while he has respected his opponent so far, Almeida's tactic to send someone to spy and film the training was a sign of insecurity and fear. They added that many wanted to physically confront the intruders, but Barzilai prevented any violence.

With just over three weeks remaining until the fight, a victory for Barzilai could be a significant step toward joining the UFC, the world's largest MMA organization. Wins in recognized promotions and championship belts are important, but defeating a fighter who recently competed in the UFC could be the final push Barzilai needs to secure a UFC contract.
