Jordanian Army Says It Intercepted and Downed 20 Missiles Fired from Iran Overnight

The Jordanian army said it intercepted and downed 20 missiles launched overnight from Iran, according to Jordanian state television. The report said fragments fell as a result of the interception of the Iranian missiles, but there were no casualties or damage.

In a statement, a military source in the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces said Jordanian air defense systems and Royal Air Force aircraft intercepted and downed 20 missiles launched from Iran toward the Azraq area in Zarqa Governorate overnight. The source said the interception led to the fall of several fragments, with no human casualties or material damage, and said engineering teams handled the missile remnants to ensure there were no explosives in them. The source confirmed that the Jordanian armed forces are monitoring current regional developments and are operating at the highest level of readiness to protect the kingdom's airspace and safeguard its sovereignty and territorial integrity, and will not allow any violation of Jordanian airspace by any party.
