Sadigura Hasidim Hold Protest Rally in Jerusalem Over Alleged Abuse of Rebbe
On the fast day of the 17th of Tammuz, Sadigura Hasidim are organizing a prayer and protest rally at their main study hall in Jerusalem. The event, approved by the police, will include participation from the community's rabbis and hundreds of followers, including yeshiva students and scholars. The protest stems from ongoing tensions and a legal dispute over control of the central Sadigura synagogue and study hall in Jerusalem, with accusations of personal attacks and humiliation directed at the Sadigura Rebbe and his family.
The Jerusalem Sadigura faction claims that members of the opposing Bnei Brak group have engaged in continuous violence against them, including incidents severe enough to require hospitalization of some community members. The Jerusalem side condemned the ongoing conflict, especially on such a solemn fast day, calling it a disgrace that hatred and discord persist.
The Bnei Brak faction states that the rally aims to clearly and firmly voice their protest but promises it will be conducted with restraint, respect, and high responsibility. The event will begin at 7:00 PM at the Sadigura Great Study Hall on Shmuel Hanavi Street, featuring prayers led by Rabbi Yosef Tzeler, head of Sadigura yeshivas, followed by speeches from prominent rabbis including Rabbi Moshe Sternbuch and Rabbi Nahum Cohen. The gathering will conclude with a light meal to break the fast after evening prayers.
