Israeli Social Media Doctor Reveals He Was Stabbed Outside His Tel Aviv Home

Dr. Alex Winderman, a well-known Israeli doctor and social media influencer with hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers, disclosed on Thursday that he was the victim of a stabbing attack about six weeks ago outside his home in central Tel Aviv. Winderman required emergency surgery and an extended hospital stay after the attack, which he described in a personal post as a terrifying experience and a miraculous survival.

He explained that prior to the stabbing, he had taken responsible steps by reporting threats to the police, filing a complaint, expressing his fear, and obtaining a restraining order through the courts. Despite these measures, the attacker still managed to stab him. Winderman recounted hearing paramedics report his critical condition and the emergency room preparing for surgery, where doctors later told him it was a miracle he survived.

Winderman emphasized his full cooperation with police investigators but declined to turn the incident into a media spectacle, stating, "This is not a news item. This is my life." He also warned that anyone spreading false information about him would face defamation lawsuits.

The stabbing occurred late at night in central Tel Aviv. Police from the "Lev" station of the Yarkon district launched an intensive investigation and arrested a suspect within hours. However, the suspect was released two days later due to insufficient evidence. Police confirmed the investigation is ongoing as they seek conclusive proof to proceed further.
