Israeli Reporter Confronts Gaza Blogger Mocking Fallen IDF Captain

A Gaza-based blogger recently posted a video mocking the death of Captain David Hazut, a 21-year-old Golani Brigade officer killed in combat in southern Lebanon. Hazut fell during a late-night clash with a Hezbollah militant near Deir Sirian. His mother described him as a dedicated soldier who lost his father young but remained committed to serving Israel.

In response, Moshe Aryeh, an Arab affairs correspondent for Kikar HaShabbat, released a sharp Arabic-language video addressing the Gaza blogger directly. Aryeh condemned the blogger's laughter as a mask for fear and weakness, contrasting it with the heroism of soldiers like Hazut who "make history." He criticized the blogger's attempts to distort reality for social media likes amid Gaza's harsh conditions.

Aryeh emphasized that despite propaganda efforts, the facts on the ground remain unchanged: Israel continues to fight and prevail, while Gaza residents endure difficult circumstances far from the false image portrayed by the blogger. He urged the blogger to recognize that reality is stronger than any edited TikTok video.
