France Sets April 2027 Dates for Presidential Election Rounds

The French government has officially announced the dates for the 2027 presidential election. The first round is scheduled for April 18, 2027, followed by the second round on May 2, 2027. This announcement was made by government spokesperson Mod Bezon after a cabinet meeting where the dates were approved. Current President Emmanuel Macron will be ineligible to run for a third term, having completed two consecutive terms.
