Boston Celtics May Lower Demands in Jayson Brown Trade Talks Amid Market Challenges

The Boston Celtics are reportedly reconsidering their trade demands for star player Jayson Brown as interest from other NBA teams remains lukewarm. According to ESPN, Boston is actively exploring trade options involving Brown as part of a broader roster restructuring for upcoming seasons. However, The Athletic reports that the trade value for Brown is currently lower than Boston initially anticipated, forcing the team to potentially reduce its expectations if it wants to facilitate a deal soon.

Celtics insider Adam Himmelsbach revealed that Brown is frustrated with Boston's handling of his situation, especially after leading the team to 56 wins last season while teammate Jayson Tatum was sidelined due to injury. Despite ongoing trade inquiries from multiple teams, Brown's dissatisfaction with the organization's approach is growing.

Portland Trail Blazers, who recently returned to the playoffs for the first time since the 2020/21 season and aim to advance further, remain interested in acquiring Brown. NBA analyst Kelly Iko suggested that Portland would need to offer a substantial trade package, potentially including Brown and Sam Hauser in exchange for players like Jrue Holiday, Jaydon Sharp, Cedi Sisoko, and several first-round draft picks. This indicates that Boston may have to be flexible to complete a trade that benefits both sides.
