Netanyahu Highlights Military Gains and Hints at Possible Jewish Settlement in Gaza
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared on Channel 14's program "The Patriots" where he outlined significant military and strategic achievements following recent operations. He referenced a detailed analysis by Dr. Avishai Ben Haim, who stated that the outcomes on the ground surpassed initial expectations, including control over Gaza, a security buffer in Lebanon, and joint strikes with the US in Iran.
Netanyahu detailed three primary objectives guiding the Israeli cabinet and military in Gaza: securing the release of hostages, neutralizing military threats from Gaza, and dismantling the civilian governance there. He expressed satisfaction with progress, noting the recent killing of Ez al-Din al-Qassam Brigades commander Ez al-Din al-Haddad and the absence of retaliatory responses, indicating operational control.
Addressing questions about the right-wing coalition's interest in voluntary evacuation of Gaza residents and the possibility of reestablishing Jewish settlements in Gaza, Netanyahu refrained from a direct answer. Instead, he emphasized a pragmatic approach, stating, "The question is whether you prefer to act or talk? Yes, I prefer not to comment."
On the diplomatic front, Netanyahu described his strategy for managing international pressure on Jerusalem as a balance between tactical flexibility and firm defense of red lines. He explained, "Choose exactly where you must stand firm against the world. Where possible, say yes; where interests demand, say no."
