Two Injured in Gas Cylinder Explosion at Beer Yaakov Restaurant
On Tuesday evening, a gas cylinder exploded at a restaurant in Beer Yaakov, injuring two people. A 42-year-old man sustained moderate burns to his upper body and was evacuated to Shamir-Asaf Harofeh Medical Center in stable condition. A second victim, a woman, suffered minor injuries from the blast and ensuing fire and was also taken to the hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
Magen David Adom emergency teams responded promptly after receiving the initial report at 19:20, providing life-saving medical care at the scene. Firefighters and police arrived to extinguish the fire, secure the area, and prevent additional explosions that could endanger bystanders.
Authorities, including fire investigators and the Israel Police, are currently examining the circumstances of the incident to determine whether it resulted from negligence by the restaurant owners or a severe technical failure in the gas system.
