American Man Moves to Israel to Reunite with Girlfriend After Two Years Apart
Satay Na'imi and Dovi Kazink's cross-continental love story culminated in an emotional reunion at Ben Gurion Airport. Their relationship began two years ago through the "Taglit" program, and after maintaining a daily long-distance connection, Dovi decided to leave his home in Miami and immigrate to Israel to live with Satay. In a joint interview with HaOlam HaBoker, Dovi described an immediate "click" and a unique bond he had never felt before, while Satay highlighted his genuine gentlemanly nature.
Despite the physical distance after their initial trip, the couple kept in touch every day for two years. Satay emphasized, "Every day, we didn’t miss a single day," and shared how Dovi would stay up until 2 or 3 a.m. his time to say good morning to her, demonstrating his deep commitment. Dovi’s decision to move to Israel was driven by both his profound love for Satay and a long-standing, intrinsic sense of belonging to the country. He explained that Israel has always felt like his true home, a core part of his identity even before meeting Satay.
The move represents a significant and challenging step for Dovi, involving major sacrifices, including separation from his family. He acknowledged the emotional difficulty but noted his family’s full support, rooted in their love for him. Though they miss him deeply, his happiness gives them strength. Now reunited without the ocean between them, Satay and Dovi are beginning their shared life in Israel with optimism for the future.
