IDF Soldier Loses Classified Phone Near Syrian Border, Device Found by Syrian Civilians
An Israeli Defense Forces soldier lost a classified and specialized phone in the buffer zone along the Syria border. The device, used by troops during combat operations, was later discovered by Syrian civilians across the border, according to a report by Nir Dvori on Channel 12 News. Following the loss and the phone falling into foreign hands, the IDF was compelled to change the security codes on numerous similar devices used by its forces.
At this stage, it remains unclear whether the device was hacked by those who found it or if any intelligence damage occurred due to the exposure of the special phone. The IDF confirmed the incident to Channel 12, stating, "The case is known and under investigation, and the matter is being handled by the relevant channels."
