Paraguay's national football team may soon have a new iconic goalkeeper to rival the legendary José Luis Chilavert. Orlando Gill, a 26-year-old from San Lorenzo, Paraguay, emerged as the hero in Paraguay's recent World Cup match, saving two penalties in a shootout to secure a 4-3 victory and advance the team to the round of 16.

Gill's journey to prominence is remarkable. For years, he was a backup goalkeeper playing for a local amateur team in his hometown. Two years ago, he transferred to the major Argentine club San Lorenzo after they failed to sign the renowned Keylor Navas due to financial issues.
