National Labor Federation Unveils New Framework to Stabilize Early Childhood Care Sector in Israel
Hundreds of daycare managers and operators from across Israel, along with Knesset members and senior officials from the Ministries of Labor and Education, gathered at a conference focused on the future of early childhood care. The event, initiated by the Halamish organization, featured National Labor Federation Chairman Yoav Simchi presenting a new collective agreement aimed at stabilizing the sector.
In his speech, Simchi praised the agreement, which received the endorsement of Rabbi Amram Fried, calling it a breakthrough for early childhood care workers. He emphasized that the agreement ends years of neglect by providing caregivers with professional support, fair wages, and real career prospects, ensuring the system's overall stability. Simchi also revealed a unique framework approved by Rabbi Fried, which includes a special consumer club tailored to the needs of the Haredi sector for caregivers joining the National Labor Federation.
The conference included speeches from former Labor Minister and current Knesset member Yoav Ben-Tzur, former Education Committee Chair Yosef Tayeb, Shas faction leader Yinon Azoulay, who helped initiate the law establishing the Unified Authority for Early Childhood, and senior officials such as Labor Ministry Director General Robi Shemesh and Education Ministry Deputy Director Fares Twil.
Halamish Chairman Attorney Shalom Nagar concluded the event by highlighting the significant achievements made through cooperation and steadfast advocacy for caregivers and operators. He pledged to continue advancing meaningful progress for the sector in the future.
